Reflection on ICT integration in class I English (articles a and an)

     
On 25th October   I taught class I children to use articles ‘a’ and ‘an’ in English lesson. I used short video downloaded  from  the  you-tube to demonstrate   lesson using led TV connected from the laptop. Students could   response   correctly the use of articles after watching clip. ICT integrated lesson really help both teacher and students to have a different atmosphere. We can show the clip again to make students understand the concept better.
As an activity students were presented power point slide with the pictures of things and animals. They were asked to use article and say a phrase e.g.an elephant, a frog. They could give the reason of using articles looking at the vowels and consonants. It was clearly explained in the shown clip.I also type some names of things, animals, persons on the Microsoft word, where children could view in the led tv. They made simple sentences using the words listed in the laptop e.g This is a book/This is an apple.
Lastly through this module I learned to use ICT facilities with exploration and learning from the colleagues. ICT played important role in making my teaching interesting therefore students actively participated in the provided activities. Having learned to use ICT in lesson I will make sure to continue and teach my students to explore themselves with well planned lesson.

Reflection on usage of ICT by class l student

On Monday 14th October I taught the lesson on sources of water in English lesson.Students were made to find the water sources using mobiles.With the materials set ready and clear instructions students were taught to browse the google.I found students curious to use the mobile.They could type the word and view the real and clear pictures of water.

Moreover students learned to use mobile meaningfully instead of playing games.Looking at the pictures students were able to talk more about the usage of water and sources.They also came across how to watch online videos through you-tubes.They were able to type the details they wanted in the search button.

In addition students were able to find what they wanted from google like flowers,animals and vegetables.Through this they could learn the skills of typing and spelling of words.

Teaching through nursery rhymes (animals )

On 19/09/2019  Thursday I taught domestic and wild animals through rhymes in class I B English.I downloaded short clip related to my topic in order to motivate children in better learning.They were found enjoying the song with the caption below.Children could remember the spellings of animals names as well as the sentences.With the provided facilities really benefits younger children in learning by watching real things.

I could engage my children actively during my lesson.Using  the clip children described well about the foods, color, size,and homes of animals.They could create the song drawing other animals with caption.For example What do you see? I  see a fish/ frog.Children learn to write parallel sentences using different animals and sing a song.They also improve in drawing,spelling and  handwriting.

We can teach the process of writing letters and sounds of letters.Using the downloaded clips we can revise the lesson especially reading out simple words and naming the pictures.

Reflection of my ICT lesson on the topic 'vegetables'

On 13 th  September  I tried to use the power point presentation with simulation on the topic 'vegetable' in class I English.I listed the names of vegetables as per the different parts that we eat.I also tried to use simulation to grasp attention of children.They could read the names of vegetables.I was happy to see that my students reading the sentences when appeared on the screen.While planning lesson I also learned how to insert the short clip in the slide.At the same time students could also view the names of vegetables from the clip inserted.As follow up activity students could draw vegetables with names and appropriate colors. Through the  clip  we could teach correct shapes and colors of vegetables or other things.Moreover we can revise the lesson easily with prepared presentation.Also we make use of facilities provided by the government effectively as well as upgrading ourselves professionally.

In other hand I could not use the LED as I had little knowledge on connecting with HDMI.The letter size was bit small where I made children to sit near the laptop.I made sure everyone see by asking them to read out the words from the screen.Since the clip of vegetables was in the drive, I showed again in the LED.

As a teacher our aim is to make children learn meaningfully using effective strategies.So it is in our hand to explore new strategies to make our students understand better and be a productive people in later life.I need to learn how to use LED with connection to laptop,so that my children enjoy the lesson viewing bigger letters and clips.

Reflection of my teaching letter sounds using ICT in class PP English.

On 27th August l tried to teach the lesson from the downloaded clip from you-tube.I made use of facilities available in our school.The lesson that I taught was about letter 'Rr' sound song with few examples.Not only this letter I downloaded all the letter sounds clip to motivate my children.

It has advantages of revising the topic using  the saved clips in drives.I learned how to download the clips from you-tube.It is worth learning to improve the skills of using ICT to enhance my teaching profession.Children too takes interest in learning watching clips.

Students sing along the clip shown thereby improving their listening,reading and speaking correctly.I could revise the names of things beginning with letter 'r' by playing the movie again.Children  could copy drawing with names in their book as a follow up activity.

When we use the idea from other sources we can think more of examples in our context.In next lesson I will try to use IT knowledge in a different way,like simulation,slide show.also use video tutorial on teaching the concept.Small children enjoy learning by seeing real things.So for the benefit of my students' meaningful learning, teacher's role is to use innovative strategies with dedication.

ICT in Teaching and Learning

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) helps facilitate the transaction between producers and users by keeping the students updated and enhancing teachers capacity.It helps to develop pupil's thinking in a range of different ways in reasoning,understanding and creativity.It is important in Primary Education because it enables children to search for the information they need and to organize what they have found.Integrating technology in education helps students stay engaged and be more responsible.

ICT Integration  in my Classroom

I use mobile,laptop and LCD TV screen to present my English lesson in  Pre Primary and class one.Mostly I use my mobile and laptop  to teach the letter sounds with internet connection from the you tube.I also download different clips and present using LCD TV with the help of drive.Students were found enjoying the lesson watching clips.Children learn better singing along and reading letters from the clips.The lesson completes on time even though it consumes time in planning.For the benefit of children to learn better and make our class lively ICT plays important role.

I am looking forward  to integrate ICT in my teaching subject by learning from friends with interest.
